Moist Banana Bread with Walnuts

Banana bread is one of those recipes that feels like comfort in every slice — warm, slightly sweet, and utterly forgiving. I’ve made this one countless times for shoots and just because sometimes you need a little baking therapy.

This banana bread recipe uses overripe bananas, a touch of brown sugar, and some chopped walnuts for texture. The melted butter and eggs make it rich and tender, and the bread comes out soft with just the right golden crust.

What I love most is how simple it is: no fancy tools, no complicated steps — just a handful of ingredients and a little patience while it bakes.

Why This Banana Bread Recipe Works

  • Overripe bananas give natural sweetness and moisture.
  • Brown sugar adds depth and a mild caramel flavor.
  • Melted butter keeps it tender and rich without being heavy.
  • Walnuts add crunch and a hint of nutty flavor that balances the sweetness.

Tips & Variations

  • Extra bananas? Add a fourth banana for even more banana flavor — you may need a few extra minutes of baking.
  • No walnuts? Chocolate chips, dried fruit, or even a sprinkle of cinnamon sugar work beautifully in this banana bread recipe.
  • Make it nut-free: Simply omit the walnuts and enjoy a classic banana loaf.

Serving Suggestions

Banana bread is perfect for breakfast, a snack, or an afternoon treat. Serve it with a pat of butter, a drizzle of honey, or a smear of nut butter for an extra cozy touch.

It’s soft, fragrant, and easy to slice — exactly the kind of loaf that makes the kitchen smell like home.
